"Projection" Open Auditions & Casting for Short Film
M-agination Films Casting Call
M-agination Films is casting principal and featured actors for the 35 minute short film “Projection.” Actors will be needed on various dates between May 14 and May 28 in Southeast Michigan.
Synopsis:
This dark, complex psychological thriller tells the story of a young woman who has long struggled to conceal a past traumatic event from her loved ones, but must relive it when the movie she attends violently comes to life, recreating the past and teaching her an important lesson. While the film’s main theme is overcoming fears, it also deals with the universal emotions of loneliness and learning one’s self-worth.

Casting Call for Actors and Extras at Wayne State University
Casting Call for Short Film
A local filmmaker and producer is looking to cast actors and extras for an upcoming project. A casting call will be held at Wayne State University on February 4th, 2012.
Audition Details:
Saturday, February 4th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm (Must schedule an appointment)

Production Dates:
Friday, February 10th, Saturday, February 11th, Sunday, February 12th, Sunday, February 26th, Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th.
Available Roles:
- Cecil: A 50-60 year old man, white, whose alcohol addiction has destroyed his family and forced him onto the streets. Cecil must be able to display quiet emotions through his eyes as he expresses his frustration with his inability to kick his addiction and his guilt over killing his family in a car crash.
- Mary: The wife of Cecil, 30s, who will be seen in flashbacks during the moments of happiness and frustration in their marriage.
- Kate: Cecil’s daughter. Between the ages of 7 and 10. like Mary, she will be seen in Cecil’s memories of times with his family.
- Extras: Passerbys on the street, dressed in casual clothes or business attire, Between the ages of 20 and 60. A male and a female of relatively same age to play a couple walking down the street. Age/Race not important. A clothing store clerk. Age/Race not important. A barber. Age/race not important.
NOTE: Most of the Extra roles are interchangeable and will only require a few days of shooting. Cecil, however will need to be available for all production days, which are all on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Compensation:
These are all unpaid roles, but all actors involved will receive a final cut of the movie that they will be able to use in their demo reels.

Open Auditions for Independent Short Film "GREETINGS FROM YELLOW SPRINGS"
Bayonet Media, an eclectic collection of aspiring artists with various festival accolades, are currently casting actors for our science fiction opus, "Greetings from Yellow Springs."
"Greetings from Yellow Springs" is ambitious and indulgent. Our protagonist, Number 11, struggles to disconnect her virtual life from her real life while under the questionable supervision of her two eccentric robot companions. It’s raw. It’s satire. Think David Cronenberg's Videodrome meets Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream.
The first stage of production will launch in mid-February. This is a non-union, low-budget short film intended for distribution at national festivals. All talent will receive copy and credit. Food, lodging, and transportation will also be provided by production.
Currently, we have two unfilled roles that will be played by the same actor.
CHARACTERS:
- Smokey/The Driver (Male): Age:40+ The Driver is a lifetime working stiff for urban America, a sarcastic grunt with a raspy drawl and a love of cigars. He shaves with a straight razor, but he hasn't shaved in weeks.

"Air Head" Casting Call for Actors and Actresses
Compass College for Cinematic Arts Student Film
“Air Head”, a Compass College for Cinematic Arts student film will be shooting March 23-25. They are looking to cast three actors and one actress.
Plot Summary:
Jack Merrymon is a rockstar in every way, his behavior, his look, even his ego, except for one major thing: Jack is a professional air guitarist. But now he has to walk the walk when he accidentally signs up for a real battle of the bands. With the competition two weeks away, classical guitar student Edward Strat reluctantly agrees to teach him the craft, and must put up with this wanna-be’s antics. Styles clash in this rock comedy, produced by An Benoit, written and directed by David Spencer.

Hair and makeup artist needed for a shoot for a local TV series. Hair and makeup will only be needed for the lead actress, not the full cast. Choreographer Needed - PAID position
Marian University is currently producing GODSPELL and is in need of a choreographer. Currently in rehearsals so work will begin immediately. Rehearsals are primarily weeknights with some weekends - choreography rehearsals somewhat flexible...
This is a very different approach to this time-honored show - it takes place in Afghanistan and the group is a troop of Army Soldiers and how they deal with the aspects of war, including troubles within their own unit.
